INTRODUCTION TO MY RESEARCH
I am interested in the evolution, ecology, and metabolism or organisms living in extreme marine environments. These environments have a lot to tell us about the limits of life on Earth and on other worlds. I have previous research experience working in Dr. Will Harcombe's lab at the University of Minnesota. There I assisted graduate student Lisa Fazzino study the impact of various carbohydrate mediums on E. Coli growth in a competitive community with Salmonella, and under pressure from a bacteriophage. I am currently about to start assisting graduate student Diana Bojanova with competitive metabolism studies in low energy environments.
