INTRODUCTION TO MY RESEARCH
Peter is working with Ph.D. student, Diana Bojanova, to determine how microbial metabolic diversity in the marine subsurface is influenced by thermally induced sediment alterations.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Cornell University Dept of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Research Assistant for Morgan Eisenlord (2018)

Collected and prepared live eelgrass samples for remote analysis. Assisted in taking tissue samples for qPCR analysis.

Measured the prevelance and severity of pathogen in eelgrass samples from around the Puget Sound.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Alaskan Commercial Salmon Fisheries, Deckhand (2019, 2020)

Assisted in the intermediate processing and quality control of salmon harvests aboard a 111ft tendering vessel.

Contributed to the successful operation of a 32ft gill-netter and the harvest of wild sockeye salmon.
